Tarlov Cysts

Tarlov Cysts are a rare condition where meningeal fluid-filled sacs press and may damage the nerve roots in the base of the spine. These cysts, can result in lower back discomfort, sciatica, headaches, constipation, sexual dysfunction, and some loss of feeling or control in the leg and/or foot.

The symptoms may vary in severity but if the condition is left untreated it could cause permanent neurological damage and have serious implications for the patients’ lives.

Medication and non-surgical treatment are effective only temporarily while surgical treatment, on the contrary, can have permanent results and relieve the patients from the serious symptoms.
