Γεσυ registered, Dr. Alexios Machairidis is an experienced interventional Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist and Internist with specialized expertise in gastrointestinal oncology as well as complex pancreas, liver and biliary disorders. He trained and worked in Germany in several teaching hospitals as attending physician for many years. Dr. Machairidis has undergone additional training to perform advanced endoscopic procedures such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Cholangioscopy/Pancreatoscopy (SpyGlass®), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Abdominal Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound, luminal stent placement within the GI tract and feeding tube placement. Dr. Machairidis has a special interest and dedication to liver/pancreatic diseases and in the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal, esophageal, gastric cancerous and precancerous lesions. He fluently speaks Greek, German, English and Bulgarian.
